Best Picture Showcase

I'll get back to my last inauguration story in a few days. Last Saturday one of the AMC movie theaters across the river ran all 5 best picture nominees in one day. My friend and I got there at 10:15 AM and saw Milk, The Reader, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Slumdog Millionaire, and Frost/Nixon all in one day. We did not leave until midnight. For me, it was an awesome way to spend a Saturday. My co-workers had told me I was crazy to attempt this. "You'll never make it!" they said. I've spent my life, proving people wrong. Surprisingly, there were a ton of people there and the majority of them stuck with it the whole day. I had all the popcorn and soda I could possibly stomach since free refills were included and the mall kept us occupied on our 30-40 minute breaks between films.

Slumdog Millionaire was good but overrated. Best Picture should have gone to Benjamin Button. It was a sweeping epic. The Oscars this year were a let down. Slumdog ripped off everyone and the multiple presenters deal was plain uncomfortable. Does Beyonce's chubby-ass have to show up at every awards show? Give us a break already.
